Located at the top of Budhanilkantha Hill, Jamchen Vijaya Stupa is about 14 km from the center of Kathmandu Valley and features a peaceful stupa with stunning views.

How to Reach Jamchen Vijaya Stupa: Directions
1. By Public Vehicle and Hike
You can take a microbus or tempo from Ratnapark to Budhanikantha, or just take a vehicle via the Ring Road to Chakrapath and take another vehicle to Budhanilkantha from there.
From Budhanilkantha, you must walk for approximately 1-1.5 hours to reach the top. You’ll pass Budhanilkantha School and the ISKCON Temple and then walk uphill to reach Jamchen Gumba.
2. By Private Vehicle
Traveling by a private vehicle is more convenient, as it takes you directly to the top without any walking.
3. By Taxi or Ride-sharing Apps
You can also take a taxi, but it will be a little expensive. I would suggest you go for a cheaper option, which is ride-sharing apps like inDrive and Patho.

1. Enjoy the Peaceful Scenery
The stupa has beautiful Tibetan Buddhist designs and a clean white color that represents peace and purity, with golden details that glow in the sunlight. The calm surroundings make it a lovely place to relax, enjoy the views, and spend some quiet time connecting with Buddhist culture.
2. Shivapuri Adventure Thrill Park
Once you finish exploring Stupa, just next to it, there is a Shivapuri Adventure Thrill Park. There, you can enjoy many thrilling activities, including zip surfing, giant swing, wall climbing, human gyro, mini bungee, sky cycling, roller coaster, high rope course, zip line, and rocket ejector.
3. Try Local Food in Nearby Places
There is a small eatery (khaja ghar) named Nirmala Khaja Ghar behind the stupa, where mouthwatering dishes are available. My personal favorites are buff sukuti (spiced dried meat) and aloo sadheko. You can pair it up with chiura (beaten rice).
4. Hiking
If you want a short hike with a well-maintained path and greenery all around, this place should be one of your choices. Start your hike from the Budhanilkantha temple, and you will reach the top within 2 hours.

- Do not enter the garden located next to the stupa.
- Do not fly drones without a permit.
- Eating is not allowed in this area.
